A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

Authenticity is great! But it is difficult. So, let us remember what we are striving for: Perfect community with God and with others. Being truly known and TRULY loved! And reflecting Christ in his authenticity to the world around us.

Read Psalm 139:1-18

Take some time to remind yourself how loved you are!
Perfectly known. And perfectly loved by God.

But what about with people?

Sometimes we don’t show people who we really are because we fear what they will think of us. When we are ashamed of who we are and when we hide ourselves, we also hide Jesus who lives within us. What a shame! This shows a whole different side to inauthenticity.

Read 2 Tim 1:6-8

We do not have to be afraid of showing people who we are. We do not have to be afraid of showing people the Jesus that has changed our lives and lives within us. May we be authentic people. And even more so, may we be authentic Christians! May we stand on the power, love and self-discipline God has given us.

May we all be able to say along with Paul in Romans 1:16-17, ‘I am not ashamed of the gospel.’ May we see God’s power at work within us and through us, saving everyone who believes. And may we be continually reminded by this Good News that ‘God makes us right in His sight’. And may that be all that really matters.

Take some time: - journal if it helps you:

* Take some time to pray this prayer of David. Allow God to search your heart today: Where are the cracks? Where are you fooling even yourself? Is there something in your life that is offensive to the heart of God? Does something need to change?

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

• Write down some action steps. Share these with someone else who can support you in making whatever changes need to be made.

* Ask God for a renewed boldness to stand for Him. Pray into situations in which you could be a light today.
